HomeBase

A regranting initiative to provide core support and capacity building to organizations working with homeless and low-income populations in the Central Valley.

HomeBase is a nonprofit public policy law firm located in San Francisco with the mission to end homelessness, prevent its reoccurrence and decrease its impact on communities.

Total Award: $350,000

Program Details:
HomeBase will provide 5 to 7 organizations with multi-year core support grants. Each organization will receive approximately $50,000 in general operating support over three years. Organizations will also receive technical assistance support from HomeBase staff. Organizations will conduct a self-assessment, develop a three-year organizational development plan, and prioritize projects in one or more of these areas:

  1. program design, implementation and evaluation;
  2. fundraising and financial management; and
  3. human resources and inter-agency collaboration.

Selection process:
Grants will be awarded on an open and competitive basis. Outreach will include using HomeBase’s networks and distributing fliers, announcements and communications throughout the San Joaquin Valley. HomeBase will use an advisory committee to help inform outreach and grant selections.

Target launch date: Early spring 2010
