The National Community Development Institute (NCDI) is a nonprofit intermediary organization with the mission to build capacity for social change in communities of color and other marginalized communities.

Program Details:
NCDI will adapt its signature Peer Exchange model of group learning to help 10 to 15 small and midsize organizations strengthen existing management, program and leadership capabilities to address operational and service issues in a culturally competent way. The program focus is peer gatherings that provide skill-building workshops, networking opportunities, discussions about cultural competency in program delivery and tools development, bridging cultural gaps, and discussions about challenges, opportunities and strategies for addressing race, class and culture,  and the formation of an electronic information network.

Selection process:
Prospective organizations may refer themselves or be referred by other organizations. Competitive organizations will have operating budgets of $500,000 or less, articulate a social justice perspective that guides their work, and be eager to learn how to be more culturally competent in organizational management or provision of services.
