Silicon Valley Community Foundation

A regranting initiative to provide general operating and capacity building support to small and midsize organizations serving low-income communities and communities of color in the Bay Area.

Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) is a leading voice and catalyst for innovative solutions to the region's most challenging problems, serving all of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

Counties served:

Total Award: $1,000,000

Program Details:
SVCF will provide up to 15 organizations with multi-year core support grants, and each organization will receive $10,000 to $12,000 per year for three years. SVCF will also fund a program of technical assistance. Organizations will conduct a self-assessment to determine capacity-building priorities. SVCF will then identify, and fund, culturally-competent consultants and technical assistance providers that can help grantees implement their priorities. Lastly, SVCF will bring grantees together for regular peer exchange, problem-solving, and to identify opportunities for joint work.

Selection process:
SVCF invited organizations to apply for the program. Invited organizations met a set of selection criteria, were current or previous SVCF grantees, or had previously applied to, but were not funded, by SVCF. This included a pool of nearly 250 organizations.

Application Deadline:
The application process is now closed. SVCF staff are reviewing proposals and anticipate announcing grant decisions by the end of December.
